Independent Living Services

The Alliance of People with disAbilities is the Independent Living Center for King County, Washington State.  The Alliance provides a variety of services to any person  in the community who has any disability, regardless of age or national origin (citizens and non-citizens, alike).

Alliance services can be catagorized into four areas:

1. Information and Referral
2. Independent Living Skills Training
3. Peer Counseling (on an individual and group basis)
4. Advocacy (self advocacy and systems advocacy). Our advocacy efforts at the Alliance include the Disabilities Law Project with a lawyer who handles civil rights cases for community members.

Depending on the service,  participants can interact with the Alliance in person, on the telephone, or over the internet. We are willing to work with participants at a level that works for both the agreed upon goal and their unique abilities!

Take a look at each of the service areas in this section for a more in-depth look at the services offered by the Alliance.
