Robert Joins Our Board

We have several new board members to announce! So stay tuned on our Blog this month to meet each of them.
First, we are so excited to have Robert Blumenfeld, former longtime staff member, join our Board of Directors!

Robert was on our staff team for 25 years, serving in a variety of roles including Interim Executive Director, Job Developer, Employment Specialist, Branch & Program Manager and Program Manager of Emergency Services.

Since retiring from his staff position in 2022, he says he’s excited to move into this new role as a volunteer to look at big-picture opportunities for the organization.

Robert occasionally attended board meetings as a staffer, but he says, “Now I have the honor of working to promote Disability Empowerment Center, expand the board and work on the nuts and bolts needed to be successful.”

A fun fact about Robert is that he has driven through much of Western Washington from the Northwest tip of the Makah reservation all the way down to Astoria.

Robert’s decades-long commitment to the disability community will make him an invaluable member of our board.
